Engineer – Total Quality Management (TQM)
Join Nemmadi's Total Quality Management team and help builders and developers get construction right the first time. As a QA/QC Engineer, you'll inspect, test, and report on quality at residential and commercial sites across Bengaluru — catching defects early, tracking them to closure, and keeping projects durable, compliant, and on schedule.
What you’ll do
- Carry out on-site quality inspections through every stage of construction, from early works to handover.
- Check that on-site work follows the approved drawings, specifications, and construction methods, and flag any deviation.
- Conduct and witness material and concrete tests — such as cube tests, slump tests, and rebound hammer / UPV checks — and verify proper curing.
- Raise and track Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) for any defect, with photos and severity, and follow each one through to closure.
- Investigate recurring or critical issues to find the root cause and recommend fixes that prevent them happening again.
- Record inspections and observations in the Nemmadi App using digital checklists and geotagged photos.
- Prepare clear, fact-based quality reports for the client and project management team.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and project teams to resolve quality issues quickly.
- Escalate serious issues promptly so small defects don't turn into big ones.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 7–10 years of experience in QA/QC or quality engineering, preferably on construction or building projects.
- Working knowledge of construction quality checks across civil, finishing, and MEP works.
- Familiarity with material and concrete testing methods (cube, slump, rebound hammer, UPV).
- Awareness of Indian construction codes (NBC / IS) and safety standards.
- Comfortable using a smartphone app for digital checklists and site photos.
- Good written and verbal communication for clear inspection reporting.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently on-site.
